Our Vision & Values

We exist as a community of God's people for His glory and the good of our city, Taipei. Below are some of our core values and vision for what our community will be about for God's kingdom.

  1. Gospel-centered
    • The gospel and grace of Jesus energizes, informs and directs all of our life and ministry together.
    • The gospel is not only the way we become Christians, but the way we grow step by step.
    • Goal: To instruct leaders of small groups, children, youth, worship to make the gospel central to the lives of both seekers and believers.
  2. Evangelistic Worship
    • Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
    • Goal: To improve the excellence of worship that centers on God and the gospel of grace so that His people are edified and encouraged to bring their friends to explore the faith.
  3. Radical community …. that serves the world
    • We are a city within a city called to serve and love the city of Taipei.
    • We are to help God’s people to live distinctive counter-cultural lives.
    • Goal: To learn about Taipei and educate ourselves abut the needs of this city so we can link with established organizations to better serve the city.
  4. Development & Unity of Leadership
    • We seek to develop more and better leaders… but particularly among men.
    • We seek to develop unity among leaders. John 17 – “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.”
    • Goals: (1) To help every member identify, develop and express their spiritual gift; (2) To actively disciple mentor younger men and women; (3) To develop a leadership training program for present and future leaders.
  5. Caring Community
    • Pastoral and elder care, and multiplication of small groups so a culture of caring is developed.
    • Goals: (1) To provide regular support and training for existing and prospective small group leaders; (2) To multiply small groups that are missional in identify.
  6. Evangelism
    • If evangelism isn’t the first thing it will be the last thing.
    • Goals: (1) Simple missional living: whenever possible share meals with friends, neighbors; (2) International student outreach ministry (English teaching, dinners for students); (3) Mission trips for our members.
  7. Marriages, Children, Youth
    • Children and youth are not to be second class citizens.
    • Goals: (1) Children’s ministry team; (2) Small groups for couples; (3) Youth minister.
  8. Prayer
    • “Prayer is not everything, but everything is by prayer” (Ray Ortlund)
    • Goal: Prayer e-mail, prayer training, prayer in every small group.
  9. Movement (church planting)
    • To be linked with other churches who will start new churches in communities through Taipei that reflect and serve the neighborhoods in which they are planted.
    • Goal: Partnership with Redeemer, local churches.
